Jim Renacci Statement on DeWine and Kasich’s Mismanagement of Ohio’s Veterans Bonus Program

Jim Renacci released the following statement in response to new reports that Ohio's veterans bonus program is underutilized and underfunded:

"Ohio voters approved bonus payments in 2010 for our state's veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan as a way to thank them for their service and sacrifices. I am deeply troubled by new warnings that the system is already underfunded and remains underutilized with three years still to go. Our veterans deserve better than the blatant mismanagement of this program by John Kasich and Mike DeWine, as do the Ohioans who approved it. I urge all of Ohio's eligible veterans to apply for this program, and call on Mike DeWine and the legislature to act to ensure these payments are fully funded as soon as possible. Our veterans are heroes, thank you for your service!"
