Mike DeWine Tries To Weasel His Way Out of Critical Race Theory Honesty

01/17/22

"Mike DeWine's comments prove he is a mealy-mouthed RINO who is more concerned about offending the liberal mainstream media than he is about fighting for Ohio's students and parents."

Mike DeWine sat down with the Cleveland Plain Dealer last week and shared his thoughts on critical race theory. They're weak. DeWine used Left-wing talking points about 'teaching history' that sound like they came straight from CNN. Critical race theory has nothing to do with history but everything to do with Leftist propaganda that devalues our children based on the color of their skin.

The Plain Dealer concluded "DeWine is trying to straddle a middle ground" and "acknowledging the fears" of conservative Ohioans...without actually doing anything about it. That's because Mike DeWine is a spineless career RINO politician masquerading as a conservative who cares more about endearing himself to the liberal media than to Republican voters.

If DeWine was governing Ohio like a real conservative instead of a weak blue state liberal, he would have done something by now to fight critical race theory in Ohio:

Jim Renacci issued the following statement in response:

"Mike DeWine's comments prove he is a mealy-mouthed RINO who is more concerned about offending the liberal mainstream media than he is about fighting for Ohio's students and parents. If DeWine didn't watch so much CNN, he would know that critical race theory has nothing to do with teaching history and everything to do with Leftist propaganda that devalues our children based on the color of their skin. Maybe that's why he has taken zero steps to stop it as Governor. Every day that DeWine fails to take action to fight critical race theory is another day that nefarious Left-wing influences can turn our children into victims in our classrooms. Protecting Ohio's schools, whether from CTR or mask mandates, will be one of my top priorities. As Governor, I will do everything within my executive power to ban critical race theory and enthusiastically work with Republicans in the legislature to ensure it can't take root in Ohio.
