NEW AD: JIM RENACCI STOOD WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, WHILE OTHERS WAVERED

Renacci for Governor released a new ad today highlighting Jim Renacci’s early support for President Donald J. Trump in 2016, while Mike DeWine and other Ohio officials instead sided with Never Trump candidates.

DeWine and Jon Husted were solidly behind John Kasich’s presidential campaign while Renacci endorsed President Trump 213 days before DeWine reluctantly did so out of political expediency. DeWine knew supporting President Trump would ultimately save his political career. However, in an act of disloyalty, DeWine called on Kasich to campaign alongside with him in the 2018 gubernatorial election. After years of DeWine opposing President Trump at every turn, including blaming him for threatening democracy, President Trump called for a primary opponent to challenge DeWine and undo the misery he has brought into Ohio. 

“It was an absolute honor to stand with President Donald Trump in 2016 when he was campaigning on his America First agenda that ultimately led to unprecedented economic growth and the strengthening of America’s standing on the world stage,” Renacci said. “Mike DeWine will say one thing, yet do another in order to save his political career. He has the spine of a jellyfish and Ohioans are fed up with his policies that has shipped jobs away while bringing more crime and despair into the state.”
