Renacci on Ohio HS Athletics Woke Summit: ‘Women’s Sports Are Under Attack’

04/05/22

Jim Renacci has pledged to appoint an Education Director who will be tasked with rooting out the Woke agenda from Ohio's schools.

According to an alarming new report from the Ohio Press Network, the Ohio High School Athletics Association is hosting a Woke summit on "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging." The summit's agenda will cover Leftist-inspired sexual, racial and gender identity topics discuss topics such as "The Gender Unicorn," a session against Indian mascots, and the "Legal Landscape of LGBTQ+ Equality."

Woke politics are infiltrating Ohio's schools and DeWine doesn't care. Last month, we learned that DeWine's education chancellor authorized a new CRT-inspired curriculum for class credit in Ohio's taxpayer-funded public colleges and universities. Moreover, when asked about whether biological men should be allowed to compete in women's sports, DeWine said he believes the government should stay out of it and will veto any attempt to fight back.

That's RINO-talk, not real conservative leadership. Jim Renacci is committed to fighting the Woke Left and protecting Ohio's sports programs. It's why he has pledged to appoint an Education Director who will be tasked with rooting out the Woke agenda from Ohio's schools and getting our classrooms back on track with reading, math, and science.

Jim Renacci released the following statement:

"Whether these radical Left activists are demanding biological men compete in women's sports or indoctrinating athletic faculty with their CRT-inspired DEI agenda, women’s sports are under attack. As Governor, I will speak up and fight to protect women's sports, and I have pledged to appoint an Education Director who will be tasked with rooting out all of the Woke nonsense from our school system. Unfortunately, Ohio Republicans can't say the same about RINO DeWine, who has said he will kill any attempt to protect women's sports and has already allowed a new Woke curriculum to be added to Ohio's public colleges. There is too much on the line for Ohio conservatives to trust Mike DeWine to lead these critical fights, but real change is coming!"
