TEXT MESSAGES UNCOVER MIKE DEWINE AND NAN WHALEY ARE CUT FROM THE SAME LIBERAL CLOTH

October 18, 2021

Cleveland, OH– Shocking new reporting from the Cincinnati Enquirer shows text messages between Mike DeWine and liberal Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley praising each other on implementing mandates while millions of Ohioans were suffering under their lockdowns. DeWine texted Whaley, “You started a great movement,” as they were in the middle of implementing mask mandates and collaborating on closing bars and casinos across Ohio.

The report also goes on to detail “DeWine and Whaley collaborated on possible solutions to gun violence, but none have passed Ohio's GOP-controlled Legislature. In December 2019, the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action came out against DeWine's gun reform package, Senate Bill 221.”

  • WHALEY: “Thanks again for sticking up for local control. Depressed about NRA opposition in 221.”

  • DEWINE: “We are still going to make it!”

  • WHALEY: “I'm in.”
